NFL Week 2 Picks by Cooper the Analyst and Cup of Joe in the D

NFL Football Week 2 is Here!!!!  The Bucaneers (0-1) travel to Carolina (0-1) on Thursday night to kick off week 2. Week 1 was all football fans could hope for from the Antonio Brown continuing saga right thru the last second win by the Saints and the Raiders win over the Broncos to end week 1. Antonio Browns abrupt release by the Raiders and subsequent signing by the Patriots had all the gusto of a pre-ochestrated deal between Brown and the Patriots. After the Pats added a 2nd year to his deal, just a day later, Brown was hit with a Federal lawsuit claiming he raped his Physical Trainer on 3 separate occasions. Brown has denied the allegations thru his attorneys but reports have surfaced that there are text messages and emails from Brown to the alleged victim backing up her claims. Time will well as to this she said, he said ordeal!!!!
As for the first week of the season we saw the Packers go into Chicago and beat down the Bears in a game that left a big question as to all of us. Did the Packers defense become this good so fast or did the Bears offense take 2 huge steps backwards?
On Sunday, we saw Lamar Jackson has a huge day against the lifeless Dolphins and also the Vikings destroy a Falcons team that afterwards had some Atlanta players screaming that the team had tanked the game in hopes of landing the number one draft pick in 2020's NFL draft. Reports had numerous Falcons players calling their agents demanding to be traded out of Atlanta.
The Chiefs behind a banged up Mahommes rolled over the Jaguars who saw QB Foles go out with a broken collarbone. The Cardinals behind number one pick QB Murray staged a furious 4th quarter comeback to tie the Lions. The Patriots ripped about the Steelers apart in Sunday night football. Tennessee went into Cleveland and won handily over the Maysfield and the Browns.  The Eagles needed a 2nd half comeback to beat the Redskins. Buffalo scored the games last 17 points and beat the Jets in New York.  The Rams picked up where they left off last season in going into Carolina and downing the Panthers. The Chargers needed OT to beat the Colts. The Seahawks squeaked by the Bengals in an entertaining game and the Cowboys behind QB Prescott arm took care of the NY Giants. On Monday night we saw perhaps the best game of the first week as the Saints beat the Texans on a last second 58 yard FG.
Injuries were again prevalent in week 1 as we seen Tyreek Hill (shoulder), Hunter Henry (knee) and many more top names go out with injuries that can be season ending.
The NFC North is the toughest Division is all of Football...
The are no consensus picks to be win Super Bowl LIII. Looks like numerous teams have a chance this season. Each year, every team and their fans are optimistic that this will be their year to win the Super Bowl. There are the contenders, the so so's and the pretenders. Contenders this season will be in the AFC; the Pats, Chiefs and Chargers.  In the NFC; Vikings, Bears, Eagles, Rams, Saints.  The pretenders will be; Bengals (even with a very easy schedule), Raiders, Redskins, Buccaneers, and Dolphins. Surprise teams are: Browns, Texans, Lions, Falcons, Broncos and Jets.  The Colts had been the talk of potentially getting to the Super Bowl before QB Andrew Luck abruptly retired 2 weeks ago.   Cooper was 11-4-1 in his week 1NFL Picks and looks forward to another fun and exciting season.  We will pick the games each week and post the previous weeks records and recap as we go forward.. Enjoy the NFL Season!!!  Cooper says are ready for some Football.....  twitter; @Thecupofjoeinthed   email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com    www.cupofjoeinthed.blogspot.com
