NFL Week 9 Picks by Cooper NFL Analyst and Cup of Joe in the D

Week 9 of the NFL season begins Thursday night with two AFC East teams facing off as the Buffalo Bills (5-2) visit the NY Jets (3-4). Buffalo was busy at the NFL trade deadline as they acquired WR Kelvin Benjamin from the Panthers. There were some big trades this year with Duane Brown going from Houston to Seattle and Jimmy Garappulo going from New England to San Francisco. Also, Miami sent RB Jay Ajayi to the Eagles. The Browns and Bengals had a trade worked out for AJ McCarron but they bungled it by not notifying the NFL by the trade deadline. Another screw up by the Browns. In other news, Ezekiel Elliott lost his appeal in New York Federal Court and must serve his 6 game suspension immediately unless the Appellate court rules in his favor before this Sunday.
Sunday starts off with the LA Rams traveling to NY to play the Giants. The Rams are looking to keep pace with the Seahawks for 1st place in the NFC West.  In Philly, the Eagles host the Broncos who have decided to start QB Brock Osweiller for the 1st time this season. Osweiller was with Denver back in 2015 when they won the Super Bowl. Baltimore will have QB Joe Flacco back as they travel to Tennessee and face the Titans. Both teams look to get back on track with a win. The Colts visit the Texans in a game that looks like it will be a very lopsided affair. Houston has a dynamic and explosive offense and Indy struggles on both sides of the ball. The first place New Orleans Saints host the struggling last place Buccaneers. The Saints have won 5 games in a row while Tampa Bay has lost 4 games in a row. In a must win game for both the Falcons and Panthers takes place in Carolina. Neither team can afford to fall another game back of the Saints in the AFC South. The Bengals travel to Jacksonville in a game that showcases the Jaguars and their Top 5 defense and a sensational rookie RB in Leonard Fournette.
The late games feature the up and down Washington Redskins traveling to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. Washington is looking to remain a Wildcard hopeful and Seattle looks to remain in 1st place. Seattle QB Russell Wilson will have a hard time duplicating last weeks 400+ yard passing performance. The top game of the day has the 1st place Kansas City Chiefs visiting the Dallas Cowboys who have won 2 straight games while running the football. The game will have a lot less luster if Cowboys RB Elliott doesn't play due to his suspension.
The Sunday night game features the disappointing Oakland Raiders who are visiting the inept on offense Miami Dolphins. Both teams have serious issues on both sides of the ball. Oakland who has more losses after 8 games this season then all of last season, have had major turnover issues and an offensive line that hasn't lived up to all the hype around how good they are as a unit. The Dolphins have issues of not being able to score and a defense that lets up huge yardage plays thru the air and on the ground. The Dolphins surprised everyone when they traded top RB Jay Ajayi to the Eagles for only a 4th round draft pick in return.
On Monday, we will see two NFC North teams battle it out as the Green Bay Packers fresh off their bye week host the struggling Detroit Lions in another must win game for both teams. Neither team can afford to lose as the Minnesota Vikings are starting to run away with the Division. Cooper says this will be the week that San Francisco wins their 1st game of the season.
Cooper went 9-4 in week 8 and YTD is 82-37 and CupofJoeintheD also went 9-4 in week 8 picks.  We will continue to post His record for each weekend and season total.  twitter; @cupofjoeinthed   email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com    www.cupofjoeinthed.blogspot.com
