Week 5 of the NFL season begins Thursday night with the struggling New England Patriots
(2-2) visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1). This will be an interesting and entertaining
game to say the least. Both teams can score at will but it will be which defense steps up and can make the big plays.
Sunday starts off with Buffalo. which is currently in 1st place in the AFC East behind a defensive resurgence travels to Cincinnati to play the Bengals fresh off their dominating win over Cleveland. Carolina visits the Lions in a battle of 2 first place teams. Both teams are banged up but have been surprising good thru the first quarter of the season. Controversy once again surrounds QB Cam Newton and remarks he made to a female reporter. The Eagles host Arizona in a game of 2 teams going in different directions. The Cardinals struggle mightily on offense and Philadelphia is strong on both sides of the ball.
In a battle of 2 win less and very disappointing teams so far in this young season, the Chargers visit the Giants in New York. For both teams, this is a must win game or the season will be pretty much over for the team that loses. Tennessee fresh over its beat down by the Texans last Sunday, travels to Miami to play the Dolphins who have a very bad offense and might be travel weary from playing last weekend in London. The NY Jets, winners of 2 in a row will visit the winless Cleveland Browns. Neither team has any real hopes of having a winning record this season. The Colts play host to the 49ers in a game which has all the markings of a shootout. Both teams have bad defenses and allot of points look to be scored in this game. The Jaguars travel to Pittsburgh to play the 1st place Steelers. Jacksonville seems to be good one week and lousy the next while the Steelers always play better at home. Controversy surrounded Pittsburgh after their win last week as WR Antonio Brown thru a Gatorade container in anger over not getting the ball and look for that controversy to carry over into this game.
Sunday night will feature the undefeated KC Chiefs visiting the resurrected Houston Texans behind rookie QB DeShaun Watson, This also has the makings of a high scoring affair. The Chiefs are the last undefeated team left in the NFL.
Monday
night will see the Minnesota Vikings without rookie RB sensation Dalvin Cook, who is out for the season with a torn ACL and possibly starting QB Sam Bradford need another stellar effort from its Top Ranked defense. The Bears on the other hand will start rookie QB Mitch Trubisky who was the 2nd overall pick in this years NFL Draft. Chicago is dead last in the NFC North needs some energy and scoring from its inept offense. Turnovers have also been a huge problem for the Bears.
