NFL Power Rankings Week 6 and Week 5 Recap

The NFL Power Rankings for week 6 and Recap after week 5 of the Season. The New England Patriots went into Tampa Bay and beat the Buccaneers in a close game. The Patriots had the lead for the entire game but had to hold on at the end. The game clearly showed both teams had issues on both sides of the ball. Pats TE Gronkowski sat out the game with am injury once again.
It was another Sunday of any team can win on any given Sunday in the NFL. Injuries again hit teams hard with the NY Giants having 3 WR's go down with injuries but non more serious to the team then losing Odell Beckham jr. for the season. Houston lost JJ Watt and Whitney Mercilus also to season ending injuries. Defensive players seem to continue to take cheap shots on defenseless players using their helmets to the heads of these players.
The Bengals at home shutdown the Bills and won for the 2nd time this season. A defensive battle for most of this game. In Detroit, the Lions once again had offensive woes until late in the game and ran out of time in losing to the 4-1 Carolina Panthers. The Panthers behind Cam Newton led for most of the game in a showdowns of 1st place teams in the NFC. Detroit's QB Matt Stafford was banged up in the loss and is questionable against the Saints on Sunday.   The Cardinals were clobbered by the Eagles as once again Arizona had little offense and the defense was torched for long pass plays. After the game, the Cardinals traded for Adrian Peterson from the Saints in hoping of salvaging their season and helping with the running game.
In a battle of win less teams in NY, the Los Angeles Chargers eked on their first win of the season. The Chargers who have lost many of their games by close scores won a game with their defense late in the game to seal the win.  Miami took down the Titans who were playing with starting QB Marcus Mariota.  The Titans have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this year as many sports pundits had this as their breakout year.  The NY Jets went into Cleveland and won with a late FG to win for the 3rd time this season after losing their first 2 games.
The Colts playing again without QB Andrew Luck needed a FG in OT to beat the (0-5) San Francisco 49ers.  Jacksonville behind their stout defense forced Steelers QB Roethlisberger into 5 interceptions as they pummeled Pittsbugh. After the game, Big Ben told reporters He wasn't sure if he still had what it takes to win in the NFL.
The late afternoon games started with the the Baltimore Ravens going into Oakland and dominated the Raiders as they cruised to an easy road win. Oakland once again playing without QB David Carr, has so many issues on both sides of the ball. The Raiders right now will be lucky to win 8 games this season.  In LA, the Seattle Seahawks used their great defense to beat the Rams and tied the LA Rams for 1st place in the NFC West. In the much anticipated rematch of last years NFC Divisional game, once again QB Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers took down the Cowboys in Dallas. Dallas which led for most of the game, couldn't put away the Packers when they had the chance too and the Cowboy defense looked like swiss cheese as the Green Bay went up and down the field with little resistance in the 4th quarter to win the game and take sole place of 1st place in the NFC North.  The Sunday night game saw a 2nd half shootout as the Kansas City Chiefs remained the only NFL team to be undefeated as they go to (5-0) on the season.  Houston whose offense has come alive under rookie QB DeShaun Watson, saw they vaulted defense take a huge hit with the season ending injuries to Watt and Mercilus.
The Monday night game saw the Minnesota Vikings go into the Windy City and beat the Chicago Bears on a late 4th quarter FG. Bears rookie QB Mitch Trubisky started his 1st game as QB and had a rough go of it against a very good Vikings defense. He gave his team a chance to win the game but the Bears lack offensive weapons to surround Trubisky this season.  The Vikings welcomed back QB Sam Bradford who missed 3 games with a bone bruise in his knee but it was short lived as Bradford lacked any type of mobility and was a shell of the player he was at the start of the season. Back up QB Case Keenum came in just before halftime and directed 2 TD's in the 2nd half to keep the Vikings a game back of Green Bay for 1st place.
