NFL Power Rankings Week 5 and Week 4 Recap

The NFL Power Rankings  for week 5 and Recap after week 4 of the Season. The Bears and Packers opened up week 4 with a one sided affair where Bears QB Glennon played his way out of a starting job with ill advised interceptions and fumbles. Rookie 2nd overall pick, Mitch Trubisky will get his first star of his career next Monday against the Vikings. Also across the pond in the 2nd game of the season played in London, the Saints won for the 2nd game in a row by shutting out the lifeless Miami Dolphins. New Orleans for the 4th game in a row didn't commit a turnover while Miami continued its woeful offensive performance behind out of retirement QB Jay Cutler and stunk up the joint.
It was another Sunday of any team can win on any given Sunday in the NFL. The Surging Bills went into Atlanta and downed the Falcons to take over sole place in the AFC East. New England laid another rotten egg at home in getting beat by the Carolina Panthers and QB Cam Newton. The Patriots defense was again torched for over 30 points by an opposing team. In the battle for bragging rights in Ohio, the Bengals cruised to an easy win of the win less Cleveland Browns. In his 2nd start as the Texans QB, Deshaun Watson instilled life into Houston's offense and the Texans throttled the Tennessee Titans. The Titans lost QB Mariota to a hamstring injury in the game. In the other surprising game of the week, the NY Jets won their second game in a row by defeating the Jaguars in OT. Two long TD runs by the Jets RB's were the difference in this game.
Detroit fresh off its controversial loss the previous Sunday went into Minnesota and behind a stout defense beat the Vikings. The Lions (3-1) behind 3 takeaways won the turnover battle. Also in this game rookie RB Dalvin Cook suffered a season ending ACL Injury. Pittsburgh went into Baltimore and put a hurting on the Ravens. Baltimore once again couldn't move the ball on offense. The Steelers star WR Antonio Brown had a meltdown after only getting the ball thrown to him a few times in this game. The NY Giants lost yet another game and are still looking for its first win as they lost to Tampa Bay in the final seconds on a late FG.  The Giants (0-4) start finds them 3 games behind the surprising Eagles, a quarter of the way thru the season. Arizona behind a late TD in OT, beat the 49ers in a game of FG's.
In the most entertaining game on Sunday, the LA Rams went to (3-1) by beating the Cowboys in Dallas. In this game, the Rams FG kicker Greg Zuerlein kicked 7 FG's to tie the NFL record.  Dallas the odds on favorite to win the Division before the season started is now (2-2) and showing signs of issues on both sides of the ball. In the battle of AFC West heavyweights, the Denver Broncos behind their Top defense beat the Oakland Raiders. In this game, Raiders QB, David Carr went out with a back injury that could cause him to miss anywhere from 2-6 weeks.
The Sunday night game was a snoozer until halftime but the Seahawks dominated the Colts in the 2nd half and won going away. The Seahawks lost RB Chris Carson for the season with an ankle injury. Indianapolis is still hoping to salvage this season with QB Andrew Luck hoping to be back in 3-4 weeks.
On Monday night,we saw a tight game thru the 1st half, then the offenses took over in the 2nd half when the Chiefs one upped the Redskins on a final second FG to remain the only undefeated team in the NFL. Washington lost many defensive starters and backups in this game and were on the field for over 37 minutes in this game. Kansas City behind QB Alex Smith is looking to be the Top team in the AFC this season.
Injuries again played a huge part in this past weekends games as receivers and running backs, quarterbacks and OL and DL guys went out, some with minor injuries and others with possible season ending injuries.  Cooper went 10-6 and CupofJoeintheD went 11-5 in week 4 picks.
