BREAKING NEWS!!!!! NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS release WR Antonio Brown
NFL Football Week 3 is Here!!!! The Tennessee Titans (1-1) travel to Jacksonville
(0-2) to take on the Jaguars on Thursday night to kick off week 3. This game is full of drama as once again the Jaguars are front and center. DB Jalen Ramsey got into a heated confrontation with HC Doug Marrone and has demanded to be traded.. More on this later in this article. And second, instead of going for the PAT and ofrce OT, the Jags decided to go for 2 and were came up short.
Week 2 was all football
fans could hope for from the Antonio Brown continuing saga right thru
the last minute win by the Falcons over the Eagles on Sunday night. The Lions won a cliffhanger to remain undefeated. The Ravens beat the upstart Cardinals. The Packers cruised to an early 21-0 lead over Minnesota and had to hang on to remain undefeated. The Colts went into Tennessee and beat the Titans. San Francisco ran roughshod over the Bengals. In Pittsburgh, the Seahawks beat the Steelers but in the game, QB Roethlisberger went down with a season ending elbow injury. New England shutout the hapless Dolphins and Antonio played in his first game for the Patriots and socred a TD. The Dolphins who traded again a top player to all but ensure they will continue to tank this season and get the #1 pick in next years draft. The Texans eked out a defensive struggle against the Jaguars. Dallas went into Washington and won handily over the Redskins. Buffalo went to 2-0 as they beat the NY Giants. The Giants have made a QB change benching two time Super Bowl Championship QB Eli Manning in favor of rookie Danial Jones. Jones may be a good QB down the road but Giants have no one at Receiver right now do to the influx of injuries and a 4 game suspension to WR Golden Tate.
The late games on Sunday showcased Patrick Mahommes and the Chiefs go down 10-0 early to the Raiders and then score 28 points in the 2nd quarter and never look back to go to 2-0 in the season. The Rams took care of business in beating the Saints in a game that saw QB Brees go down with a thumb injury and will miss the next 6-8 weeks. In this game, we witnessed yet another brutal call by the Officials that cost the Saints a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter that may of changed the outcome of the game.
In the late game on Sunday night, the Falcons struggled but scored on a last minute 53 yd catch and run by WR Julio Jones. Monday night, the Browns beat up on the injury depleted Jets in New York.
On a side note, once again a disgruntled played has demanded a trade and if the NFL isn't careful, it will soon become just like the NBA where the Players run the league not the Owners. On the topic of teams trading key players and tanking, this also needs to be addressed by the NFL and rules put in place to stop it. And lastly, once again there were bad calls and one cost a team a game. The Broncos DE Chubb was called for roughing the passer that gave the Bears 15 yards and a first down that ultimately led to the game winning FG. How the NFL allows these continued terrible calls is beyond me and looking at the play and review this is the Clay Matthews calls of 2018. Since the NFL reviews almost everything else nowadays, calls like this should also be reviewed. Yet another Black Eye for the NFL. I also seen many empty seats at numerous stadiums last week that should cause the Good Ole Boys Group to take notice. Ratings on tv isn't everything. I understand the idea of protecting the QB, but clean hits on QB's need to be allowed and the NFL Officials need to call it the same for all QB's.. Not reward Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers and call a roughing the Passer almost everytime they get hit and let non calls go against guys like Russell Wilson and Cam Newton and others..
Injuries were again prevalent in week 2 as we seen QB's Brees and Roethlisberger go down and many more top names go out with
injuries that can be season ending.
The NFC North is without doubt the toughest Division is all of Football...
