CFB Top25 Week 7 by Joey the Cat and CupofJoeintheD

Here is the CFB Top 25 Week 7 and a recap of week 6, updated by Joey the CFB Cat Analyst and also by CupofJoeintheD. Week 6 of the CFB season seen #1 Alabama steamroll a bad Arkansas team to remain atop the CFB.  And until the CFB Playoff Committee calls out and starts to punish the Top teams for playing such a soft non conference schedule we will continue to see this happening. College Football needs to take the same approach as College Basketball does in that the softer the schedule you play the lower the ranking and seeding you will be have come Playoff time. Right now the CFB Committee bows to pressure from the Top Bowl Sponsors and Advertisers to continue to put the Elite teams in the Top Bowls without any repercussions for not playing a tougher schedule.
The Top 10 in the CFB seen a shakeup as both Oklahoma and LSU lost and dropped out of the Top 10 and probably out of the CFB Playoff picture.
UCF moved into the Top 10 for the first time this season, although I doubt even if they go undefeated, they will not get into the 4 team playoffs with the weak non Power 5 Conference schedule. Texas is finally re-establishing themselves as a potential Top program under 2nd year HC Tom Herman.  Florida also seems to be on a roll and Cincinnati cracked the Top 25 with a 6-0 record.
As it is in most cases, Top Teams will struggle on occasions in games during the season and when the underdog has a chance to upset them, they need to continue to score and not get to complacent and allow the Top Teams to get back in the game. When teams don't capitalize when they should the end is almost always like it is in Vegas where the Top Teams win most of the time.
With most Power 5 Conferences now in full swing, the next 6 weeks should see the Top 10 change a few times and barring any major upsets, the Top 5 or 6 teams at this point will be the teams vying for the 4 team CFB Playoffs.
Joey was 24-9 in week 6 including picking 4 upsets. YTD, Joey is 136-42 with 24 upsets picked. Joey will provide his picks of the week on Thursday as he does every week.  We will revise our Top25 every week thru the College Football Season..  twitter; @TheCupofJoeintheD   email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com    www.cupofjoeinthed.blogspot.com
