NFL Week 4 Power Rankings and Week 3 Recap

Week 3 of the Season ended Monday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers going into Tampa Bay and handing the Buccaneers their first loss of the season. Big Ben out dueled the journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even with the loss there should not be a doubt as to who the starter is in Tampa Bay. Fitzpatrick is the starter and the job is his to lose. Le'Veon Bell is still a no show and the Steelers are now entertaining trade offers for the star Running Back.
Last Thursday night, the Browns won for the first time in 21 months as rookie QB Baker Mayfield came in and resurrected the offense and the team rallied behind him. Once again, why there is a QB controversy is beyond me. Mayfield should be the starter going forward for Cleveland.
On Sunday, we saw upset city as the win less Bills went into Minnesota and throttled the Vikings for their first win of the year. In Washington, the lifeless Redskins beat up on the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. In Jacksonville, the Jaguars lost a FG battle to the Titans who are now looking like the team to beat in the AFC South. In the Sunday night game, the Lions and new Head Coach Matt Patricia finally put it all together and beat the Patriots. New England is starting to look like an old team without a good receiving group. The years of refusing to pay a top WR may come back to haunt the Pats. They are hoping that Josh Gordon will be the answer at WR to compliment TE Gronkowski.
In KC, the Chiefs remained undefeated behind the arm of Patrick Mahomes. The 49ers not only lost this game but also lost QB Jimmy Garrapolo for the rest of the season with a torn MCL. New Orleans in OT, won a shootout behind QB Drew Brees over QB Matt Ryan and the Falcons. The surprising Dolphins went to 3-0 as they handed the Raiders their 3rd straight loss to open the season.  The LA Rams beat the LA Chargers and look like the odds on favorite right now as the Super Bowl team to beat. The NY Giants beat the Houston Texans in a battle of win less teams.  Philadelphia behind the return of QB Carson Wentz defeated the upstart Colts. Baltimore shut down the Broncos and got back on the winning track.  Carolina behind an explosive offense ended the Bengals winning streak at 2 games. Seattle fresh off their 2nd loss of the season last week, beat the Cowboys. Dallas whose passing game is non existent is starting to fade in the NFC East and many are calling for HC Jason Garrett's head.  The Bears went into Arizona and won for the 2nd time in 3 games and handed the Cardinals their 3rd loss in a row. After the game, Arizona announced they are changing QB's and handing the reins over ot rookie QB Josh Allen. Of all the QB's drafted in the first round of this years draft, only Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is not starting now.
The new roughing the passer rule once again was at the forefront of the games this past weekend. Numerous questionable calls were made and now teams are asking the NFL to clarify the rule. The rules committee is expected to meet next week and discuss but do not expect any changes to the rule if any until next season.
