CFB Top25 Week 9 and Recap of week 8 by CupofJoeintheD

Here is the CFB Top 25 Week 9 , updated by Joey the CFB Cat Analyst and also by CupofJoeintheD and the recap of Week 8 of the CFB season  A week where the Top 5 took care of business and most of the Top 15 as well.
Alabama, once again pounded another SEC to remain undefeated and put even more distance between themselves and #2 Penn State.  The Nittany Lions also perfect so far this season at (7-0). Penn State hosted #19 Michigan and were looking for revenge after they took a beat down last season at Michigan.  The Nittany Lions pummeled Michigan and their top ranked defense for 500+ yards and 42 points. The Wolverines looked confused on defense and as all season long had no clue how to run an offense. Michigan, once a Top 5 team, had to rely on their defense and a run game as the passing game is non existent and Coach Jim Harbaugh's team playoff hopes have went out the window.
Oklahoma State needed OT to get by a Texas team who has almost beaten 2 top 10 teams in the past couple of weeks. Notre Dame crushed USC in South Bend to run their record to 6-1. Miami (Fla), just got by Syracuse to stay perfect on the season. South Florida has moved into the Top 15 and is the only school outside of a Power Conference to remain undefeated and have a remote outside chance to be a Playoff team. Michigan State has positioned themselves to be spoiler and potential Top 10 team as they have rebounded from a disastrous 2016 season to be 6-1 with 2 big games in the next 3 weeks against PSU and OSU.           .
Outside of the Top 25, Tennessee lost another game and to most Vols fans losing to Alabama by 38 points was a small victory.  This is crazy for a team that recruits top talent year in and year out. Coach Butch Jones time in Knoxville may be coming to an end. Only Michigan and Coach Jim Harbaugh being in the headlines may of taken the heat off of Butch Jones for a week of two.
Remember, I generally only pick games whose point spreads are 7 points or less and always pick a minimum of 4 underdogs a week. Joey the CFB Analyst went 25-5 in week 8 including picking 4 upsets, YTD, He is 148-41 with 30 upsets picked. Watch for His week 9 picks later this week.
On a separate note, We saw the NCAA once again become the laughing stock of College Athletics as they showed how spineless they have become in issuing not even a slap on the wrist to North Carolina in an alleged repeat of major infractions of academic fraud against the Tar Heels athletes. In a ruling that took years to complete, it showed the lack of any power by the NCAA anymore. College athletics have become a huge money making machine for Colleges and Coaches, especially in Basketball and Football and I look for the NCAA to continue to be powerless going forward.
