NFL Power Rankings Week 4 and Week 3 Recap

The NFL Power Rankings  for week 4 and Recap after week 3 of the Season. The Rams and 49ers opened up week 3 with the best Thursday night game in years as they battled to a thrilling 41-39 win. In the 1st game of the season in London seen Jacksonville throttle the Ravens 44-7. The Jaguars defense held the Ravens to under 100 total yards and the offense behind QB Blake Bortles did as they pleased. It was a very embarrassing loss for Baltimore.
It was a strange Sunday as upsets abounded and their was also another huge controversial game and call on the final play of the game. The Detroit Lions got the worst of it once more. The Lions scored a game winning TD in the final 8 seconds only to have it reversed without any concrete evidence to overturn the call. The rule states in the final 2 minutes if a call is reversed or changed there is an automatic 10 second runoff. In this case, it was the refs review that cost the Lions the game. The Rule must be reviewed and changed just as the Calvin Johnson catch, not catch, was finally changed and yet to this day, not one call of a catch is the same. Atlanta won the game over Detroit despite 3 interceptions by QB Matt Ryan.
The Saints won for the 1st time all season as they went into Carolina and downed the Panthers. Philadelphia used a 61 yard FG in OT to keep the NY Giants win less despite 2 late TD catches by Beckham. New England needed OT also to beat the Texans in a game that saw Houston's rookie QB DeShaun Watson in his 2nd career start almost beat the Patriots.  Buffalo handed Denver their 1st loss of the season in a game that saw Broncos QB Siemian make some terrible throws. The Vikings behind backup QB Case Keenum won easily over the Buccaneers who also lost key defensive players to injury. Green Bay needed a late 4th quarter TD and OT to beat the Bengals. Cincinnati's offense finally scored a TD but went to 0-3 with the loss. In New York, the Jets used a surprisingly good defense to stymie the Dolphins and also win for the first time this season.  Kansas City traveled to Los Angeles and in a tough game, kept the Chargers win less and the Chiefs rookie RB Kareem Hunt continued to run roughshod all over opposing NFL teams. The Titans behind a pounding running game beat the Seahawks for their 2nd straight win.
In the Sunday night game, Washington won again as their defense chased Raiders QB Carr all over the field and they lead start to finish. The Redskins defense for the second straight week was the star of a game.
On Monday night, the Cowboys beat the Cardinals as it took Dallas well into the 2nd half before they pulled away for Arizona and kept pace for first place in the NFC East. Injuries again played a huge part in this past weekends games as receivers and running backs, quarterbacks and OL and DL guys went out, some with minor injuries and others will possible season ending injuries.  Cooper went 11-5 and CupofJoeintheD went 8-8 in week 3 picks. YTD, Cooper is 33-14 and CupofJoeintheD is 32-15. We will continue to post His record for each weekend and season total.  twitter; @cupofjoeinthed   email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com    www.cupofjoeinthed.blogspot.com
