My Why Why WHY's and Thoughts of the Week in the "D" and Elsewhere. 4.14.15

A Weekly Post of My Thoughts and Question to Everyone of Why?  In the "D" ( new thoughts are written in red to my previous Thoughts and Questions)
Why is the Michigan State Legislature forcing the Good People of Michigan to vote on a sales tax to repair the roads when they should of addressed this issue on their own? ( The Legislature has no problem putting futile bills together to sign into law but didn't want to the job they are paid to do and showed no backbone when they couldn't put a bill together to fix the roads, instead they gave the fine People in the State of Michigan a no choice bill to vote into law which essentially does the Legislatures job to fix the terrible roads in disrepair. And roads that have been fixed or repaired are already failing and this is unacceptable to all taxpayers in the State of Michigan.)
Why do some elected City Officials in Detroit think they deserve a raise when the City just came out of bankruptcy  and many took pay cuts and reductions to their pensions?( These Officials got what they wanted in a raise just after the City of Detroit has come out of bankruptcy, they also get city cars, pay no car insurance and have other perks as well. It is a shame for those who worked so long for the City and are now pensioners got screwed out of up to 10% of their pensions as well as having to pay allot more for their medical costs. A Black Eye for the City at a time is should be shining and moving forward.)
Why are so many bridges and underpasses in such bad shape and yet the State is doing very little to fix them in an urgent manner? (Again, the infrastructure of the roads and these areas in Michigan are bad, really bad and despite what the State continues to tell us, I do not see a clearly defined plan to help fix these areas where they are becoming more and more unsafe each and every day. Dilapidated bridges and over passes are crumbling and causing major issues and are becoming very unsafe to drive on and under for motorists. )
Why does the State of Michigan want to bring a persons religious preference into the decision making process of adoption? ( Religion belongs out of the State decision and it is crazy to allow a law to be passed which allows a persons religious preference to be part of the adoption making process and even more so, allow someone to make a decision about a person's religious preference based on their own thoughts and beliefs.)
Why does it take a story of a man who walked over 26 miles a day to and from work to get people riled up over the poor and inept Bus System in Metro Detroit that has been like this for decades and even worse nothing is happening to address this?( Detroit still has so many major issues with their Bus System and there is no real sense of urgency in Detroit or in the Communities or within the State to come together and have one regional transit authority to align the City of Detroit with the Communities and have a World Class Bus System for Everyone.)
Why is it all these beautiful renovated properties in Detroit are so high priced as condos and apartments and lofts that hard working middle class can't afford to live in them?  Where is all the so called affordable housing promised in the City of Detroit and who figured out the cost of what affordable housing really is?( Again, no one wants to say what constitutes affordable housing in Downtown Detroit! $2.00 a sq. foot is not affordable to anyone except the affluent and they make up only a small percentage of those living in Detroit.) On a side note, kudos to Meijers' for opening their 2nd grocery store within Detroit's city limits.)
Why is there not a more concentrated effort in the City of Detroit to really address the issues of the Homeless, lack of Shelters, feeding the poor and hungry? What about using some of the abandoned buildings all over the City to help?(The City of Detroit is doing allot to collect back taxes and owed water bills and such but there is really no mention either from the City of Detroit or the Sate itself as to what they are going to do moving forward to address these issues. It seems they just want all of this to go away which we all know isn't going to happen without a long term plan and commitment.)
Why does the State of Michigan continue to allow people to carry weapons onto and into schools? Change the rules and allow People to carry open arms but just not into Schools and most Public Places.(It is crazy to think that we have allowed this to even be a common occurrence and now we see that those who do carry a weapon(s) legally are pushing the envelope by walking down the street and onto school grounds forcing law enforcement and their resources to go out and make sure these people are law abiding citizens.)
Why are there so many fire hydrants in the city of Detroit not working and why has this been allowed  to continue to happen? There is an estimated 10,000 fire hydrants not working in Detroit right now and I hear they are working to fix them but again where is the plan to fix them and when will they all be fixed? How many more homes and businesses need to be destroyed because the hydrant wasn't working and it delayed the fire department from doing their job!
Why  is violence on the upswing at an alarming rate in the City of Detroit! Violent crimes, robberies, car jacking, drugs,  and homicides are on the rise? why why why and what is being done to combat these issues?

New Questions and Thoughts: 
Why is the Detroit City Council trying to do their best to really screw up the Revival in the City of Detroit by screwing around with the plans already established for the new Hockey arena area? (The City Council seems to be bitter about losing all its control and power during the bankruptcy proceedings and instead of helping and supporting those who are working hard to Revive the City of Detroit, the City Council is being very petty and wants to show everyone it is the City Council and not the City or Mayor who has all the power to make important decisions about the future of Detroit. Someone needs to remind them that for the City to continue to see a revival , the Council needs to support and work with everyone else including the Mayor instead of continuing to screw  those who are doing good in the City!)
Why does Gov. Synder and the State of Michigan continue to allow the State Tax Tribunal to cave in to Big Business and not pay their fair share of tax? ( In Sunday, 4/12/15 newspaper edition of the Detroit News/FreePress was a scathign article about how the State of Michigan's tax tribunal continues to allow companies such as WM, Lowe's Home Depot etc, get away with not paying their fair share of tax. Whether it is a loophole or caving in for whatever reason, it is truly hurting the Communities that these Businesses are in and yet the State doesn't seem to really care if they do or don't! Gov. Synder needs to step in and fix this issue before it is too late!)


Elsewhere:
Why does the Government continue to be so nonchalant when other Nations hack into our National data bases? ( It was confirmed last week that Russia had hacked into the White House Data Bases and all We hear is that the US Government is looking into it! This is absurd, we continue to hear that Terrorist Groups and other Nations continue to hack int o our Countries computer systems as well as Businesses too. When will we as a Nation stop fooling ourselves and see that the intentions of these Nations and Terrorists Groups are for real and need to be addressed immediately! It is time to stop being for Politically or Diplomatically correct and make sure all these who continue to jeopardize the safety of our great Nation take heed and notice!)
Why can't the DNC and GOP play well together and try, just try to find common ground on anything? ( I find it insulting as an American that both parties continue to think the great People in the USA should sit back and let them stay along party lines that are full of archaic thinking and the good ole boys networking while the Country is falling apart in front of Our eyes and everyone else's as well.)
Why do We the People of this great Nation keep allowing these lawmakers to tell us what they are going to do for us instead of them listening to what we want and not what their Party wants for us? ( Again neither party listens to what the needs are of the People or do they want to, they expect us to take whatever they try to cram down our throats.)
Why do all the Presidential Candidates never lay out a true platform agenda and where their stand on all the issues at hand and even more so why do We, the People, continue to accept from the Parties a common no response answer? ( We will ever see in Our lifetime, a true political agenda from all Presidential Candidates and what their stance is on key agenda items that are important to the People and not hear the normal blah blah blah .)
Why do We continue to jeopardize our Nations security by not making our borders more secure? ( It seems that everyone tells us how important it is to keep our borders secure and to keep the People of this great Nation safe, but it is used as a ploy and bargaining chip by both parties to get what they want and allow potential harm to come our way.)
Why are Billions of our tax dollars being wasted by giving out benefits to people who have been dead for years and sometimes decades and also where we say someone is deceased when they are alive and yet these People have to suffer as a mistake is made over and over and over and these People cannot get at their assets because they have been frozen or seized? ( This has been happening for decades and every time someone brings it up, we are assured that it has been corrected and will not happen again, but as we can see it is getting worse not better and we continue to spend countless billions of dollars for no good reason that could be used elsewhere or here is a good idea, to lower our debt!)
Why do we not address the problems of hunger, homelessness, mental illness here at Home first and then help other Nations out with their needs? When did we become a Nation of helping others before We help our own?( They say this is getting better here in our great Nation, but by what standards are they using to measure? Lets be clear, it isn't getting better, it is getting worse, more and families and people are homeless, hungry and mental illness continues to rise at an alarming rate and all we do is set aside a small amount fo money both on the federal and state level to mask these issues  but yet we give billions and billions to other Nations without even a second thought.)
Why do we give Hundreds of Millions of dollars in tax break to the oil companies when they charge us the People for any disruption in oil, when their refineries go down, etc.. when there oil companies make Billions a quarter in profits? Other businesses must absorb these costs by themselves.( We can thank Congress and our elected officials for this, they do not feel the brunt of these costs as the People of our Country do! Oil Companies get richer and richer while the regular hard working person tries to do more and more with less and less yet we keep giving millions and millions in tax breaks to these Oil Companies and not care about  the American People.)
Why do the lawmakers not ask us the People what We want in regards to the Keystone pipeline and come clean with all the data and information so we have an honest and clear picture of all the pros and cons? ( This will never be given an honest answer to, because both sides get way too much in givebacks and political contributions form those who stand to make billions off this Keystone pipeline.)
Why do we as a Nation continue to allow US Companies to use loopholes to not pay their fair share of taxes owed to the US Government? (Again the American People suffer and these Businesses get richer and richer. Here is another idea, close the loopholes that continue to allow these companies to get away with not paying their fair share of taxes, if they threaten to close down their operations in the USA, then also include in the law that they cannot export their product here and see how quick they change their minds.)
Why do the Veterans of this great Country continue to have to wait for healthcare or their appointments get pushed off for months and months and why do they not have the best health care available immediately after they have served and given their lives for the USA? (They say health care is getting better for our Veterans but where is the proof, data can be skewed and hearing reports and interviews with our Veterans, nothing indicates that it is getting better for them.)
Why is it alright for Candidates and Lawmakers to use misleading and deceptive ads against others or against propositions to serve their own purpose? This ads should have to be honest and truthful. ( Again, the States and the Federal Gov't need to step up and put into law , a very clear and detailed law(s) that outline very concisely what can and cannot be put into ads or propositions. When will we stop all the ill gotten mud slinging and deception that is being allowed?)
