Spartans sweep Wolverines with a Decisive Win in Ann Arbor
In a rivalry game that has become more and more intense over the past few years, Tuesday nights game at U of M wasn't much of a game at all. Coach Tom Izzo had his MSU Spartans ready from the tip-off and they dominated this game from start to finish and made a statement to the NCAA that they are ready for March Madness and an 18th consecutive trip to the NCAA tourney. MSU took control of the game right away and an undermanned Wolverine team didn't give much of a fight in front of a sold out Crisler Center and the U of M fans pretty much emptied the seats with allot of time left in the game. In a season where both the Wolverines and Spartans have had their share of ups and downs, the Spartans seem to be putting it all together late in the season where the Wolverines seem to be destined to finishing out the year and looking towards next season. The games wasn't really close at all, and if not for a huge advantage in FT's for the first 38 minutes of the game this would of been a real ugly 20+ point loss for the Wolverines. The Spartans pounded the ball inside over and over and the Wolverines had no answers to stop Dawson and Company inside. Even in the last minute or two, the Spartans made more FT's then they missed and ended the game shooting 70% from the FT line which was also good to see, seeing that they have been so bad all year long from the FT stripe. It was a game where the Spartans dominated in all facets and showed that they can be an Elite Top 20 team when they put it all together. The Spartans team leaders showed up and the Wolverines team leaders didn't come to play. It was a good night to be a Spartan and a night the Wolverines wish they could take a mulligan and play over. @cupofjoeintheD
