The Demise of the Eagles in Philly this year

Was anyone really surprised as to how the Philadelphia Eagles playoff run ended with a loss to the Washington Redskins this past Saturday?  The loses were mounting week after week and the offense was hit or miss and the defense was craved up like roast beef at the dinner table. Chip Kelly's fast paced offense worked well in the college ranks and does from time to time in the NFL but it isn't an offense that can sustain time consuming drives or take time off the clock when they need to. The defense has been beat badly this year on many occasions and despite numerous injuries on both sides of the ball, the Eagles just couldn't seen to put it all together.  The offense can score big at times but the defense also is heavily scored on at all times.  This isn't the college game, in the NFL, you still need to have a real good defense and an offense that can score points but also win the low scoring smash mouth football games too. The Eagles will have a long winter to look at the good and bad of their football team and hopefully put allot more emphasis on rebuilding a stronger and faster defense and better defense to go along with an offense that also can be tweaked to be more consistent and do the little things they need to win more football games.
