Week 13 Picks by Cooper the Analyst and Cup of Joe

NFL Football Week 13 is Here!!!!  The annual 3 Thanksgiving Day games are upon us and feature the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions in a game that has 2 teams not making the Playoffs this season. Once again the Lions will be without QB Matt Stafford in this game. The afternoon game showcases the surprising Buffalo Bills at the struggling Dallas Cowboys. Dallas coming off a bad loss at New England needs to win to maintain first place and to keep HC Jason Garrett's job. The Bills look to win to keep pace with their wildcard aspirations. In the nightcap, the disappointing Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints. The Saints look to wrap up the NFC South and are vying for home field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs this season.
The Sunday early games kickoff with the Packers visiting the NY Giants. Green Bay was trounced by the 49ers last week and the Giants are struggling to win at all. Miami hosts the Eagles in a must win game for Philadelphia which needs to win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Los Angeles Raiders travel to Kansas City in hopes of rebounding from their embarrassing loss to the Jets while the Chiefs are fresh off their bye week and QB Mahomes rested his bad knee. The Jaguars host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game that should be high scoring. Both teams have had very disappointing seasons. The resurgence NY Jets travel to face the winless Bengals who are starting QB Andy Dalton after benching him for 3 weeks. The Carolina Panthers face the Redskins in a game that is meaningless in the standings. Both teams are out of the playoff picture.
Other games on Sunday feature the 49ers traveling to Baltimore to face the Ravens. This could be the prequel to Super Bowl 54 as the 49ers with the top defense face the explosive Lamar Jackson and Ravens offense. The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers face off for round 2 of their epic end of the game fiasco with this time the game is in Pittsburgh and the Steelers have benched the QB in question Mason Rudolph for 3rd string QB Devin Hodges. Whether this is a ploy by the Steelers or not will be questioned seeing that Pittsburgh is in the wild card chase going into Week 13. In a game between the 2 bottom feeders in the AFC West, the LA Chargers travel to Denver to face the Broncos. The late game sees the first place New England Patriots visiting the Houston Texans in a game that will face 2 first place teams in the AFC teams.
The Monday night game has the wildcard leaders in the NFC facing off against each other as the Vikings travel to Seattle. Both teams should score allot of points in this game unless the weather intervenes.
The NFC North is without doubt the toughest Division is all of Football...
On a side note this week in the NFL, last Saturday's NFL sponsored tryout for ex QB Colin Kaepernick was nothing short of a debacle. Both sides share blame in this tryout going wrong and even though it has become a PR nightmare for the NFL and will continue to show that the Players do not or will not trust the NFL, Kaepernick will come out of this as the loser and showing NFL teams and their Owners that He still doesn't get it!!! If you can't get along with the NFL, the teams and the perception around the league, no matter how good you, if you continue to try and be a martyr after settling your lawsuit with the NFL, you will have little to no chance of ever playing another down in the NFL.
The season is a bit over 2/3's of the way thru and only a handful of teams are showing they are the front runners to get to Super Bowl LIV. They are the Patriots,Packers,49ers, Ravens and Saints. Next tier of teams are the Vikings, Chiefs, and Seahawks . Surprise teams this season are the 49ers, Bills, Seahawks, and Colts. Biggest disappointments so far are the Bears, Browns, Falcons, Chargers and Titans. Teams that appear to be vying for next years #1 draft pick are the Dolphins, Bengals, NY Giants and Redskins.
