Week 12 Picks by Cooper the Analyst and Cup of Joe

Breaking News!!!!   Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett and Larry Ogunjobi and Pittsburgh Steelers Maukice Pouncey all appealed their suspensions this week and all 3 received their punishment doled out by the NFL. Garrett who during His appeal accused Steelers QB Mason Rudolph of a racial slur had his indefinite suspension upheld and will miss at least the rest of the season and subsequent playoffs.  Browns Ogunjobi had his one game suspension upheld and Steelers Pouncey had his 3 game suspension reduced to 2 games.... More to Come!!!!!!! Also, Antonio Brown sent out the lamest apology to the Patriots on Social Media on Tuesday in hopes of returning to the NFL after all He has said and done to the contrary. I hope the NFL also keeps to its original suspension until at least the end of this season...

NFL Football Week 12 is Here!!!!  The Indianapolis Colts (6-4) visit the Houston Texans (6-4) in a battle of teams tied for first place in the AFC South. The Colts who have put together a real nice season behind QB Brissett face the Texans who are coming off a beat down by Baltimore.
The Sunday early games kickoff with the struggling Panthers traveling to New Orleans to face the Saints. Carolina looks to right the ship in a must win game if it wants to keep its slim playoff hopes alive. Drew Brees and Saints look to continue their winning ways as they try to battle for 1st place and home field advantage in the NFC Playoffs. Cleveland hosts the Dolphins in a game that the Browns must win. It will be interesting to see how the Browns respond in the wake of the brawl and suspensions last week.  The NY Jets host the Oakland Raiders. Both teams look to continue winning but the surprising Raiders, who with a win will have a share of first place in the AFC West. In a game featuring 2 disappointing teams this season, the once promising Detroit Lions visit the Washington Redskins. Both teams are out of playoff contention, yet the loser of this game will actually be the winner in moving closer to a top 5 draft pick in next years NFL Draft.  The Eagles coming off their loss to New England and blowing a 10 point lead face the surging Seattle Seahawks who are 8-2 in the NFC West.
Other early games on Sunday feature Buffalo playing host to the Broncos in a tale of two teams going in different directions. The Bills are looking towards the playoffs while Denver is looking towards next season.  Pittsburgh travels to Cincinnati to face the winless Bengals. The Steelers who will be playing this game without their main RB and 2 WR's are 5-5 and look to continue to play hard while losing their star players. The Bengals WR AJ Green looks to play for the first time this season.  In a game between the 2 cellar dwellers in the NFC South, the Falcons are at the Buccaneers. Tamps Bay has struggled most of the season and continues to turn the ball over and who also play no defense at all. Atlanta on the other hand, started the first half of the season off  by losing badly have turned it around after their bye week and have dominated the last 2 games and look to continue this fresh start and outlook. The NY Giants losers of 6 games in a row visit the Bears in Chicago. This game is a toss up but also has lots of drama with Bears QB Mitch Trubisky being pulled late in the game on Sunday night. The Bears HC came to the defense of the struggling QB and said He hurt his hip in this game and that was why He was pulled, yet most do not believe this story at all!!!!
In the late games, Two teams who have under achieved this season face off in Tennessee as the Titans take on the Jaguars. Both teams have struggled mightily on offense and have wasted good defenses again. In the most game that most are looking forward to, the Cowboys travel to New England. The Patriots are having to rely on their stout defense as the offense has had many troubles this season. Dallas on the other hand has an explosive offense and a decent defense but it depends on which teams shows up to play in this game.  The night game sees a battle of first place teams as the NFC West, 49ers play host to the NFC North, Green Bay Packers. This game has all the looks of a shootout, but also can turn into a defensive struggle with the team that runs the ball better will win the game. Both teams look to keep pace in a fight for the NFC Playoffs home field advantage.
The Monday night game has the hottest team in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens traveling to Los Angeles to face the Rams who are banged up and need this win to have any chance at the playoffs.
The NFC North is without doubt the toughest Division is all of Football...
On a side note this week in the NFL, last Saturday's NFL sponsored tryout for ex QB Colin Kaepernick was nothing short of a debacle. Both sides share blame in this tryout going wrong and even though it has become a PR nightmare for the NFL and will continue to show that the Players do not or will not trust the NFL, Kaepernick will come out of this as the loser and showing NFL teams and their Owners that He still doesn't get it!!! If you can't get along with the NFL, the teams and the perception around the league, no matter how good you, if you continue to try and be a martyr after settling your lawsuit with the NFL, you will have little to no chance of ever playing another down in the NFL.
The season is a bit over a 1/2 of the way thru and only a handful of teams are showing they are the front runners to get to Super Bowl LIV. They are the Patriots,Packers,49ers, Ravens and Saints. Next tier of teams are the Vikings, Chiefs, and Seahawks . Surprise teams this season are the 49ers, Bills, Seahawks, and Colts. Biggest disappointments so far are the Bears, Browns, Falcons, Chargers and Titans. Teams that appear to be vying for next years #1 draft pick are the Dolphins, Bengals, NY Giants and Redskins.
