NFL Power Rankings Week 13 and Recap

The NFL Power Rankings Week 13 and Recap after week 12 of the Season. Week 12 opened up 3 games played on Thanksgiving Day with the Detroit Lions once again rallying in the 4th quarter to beat the Minnesota Vikings and stake claim to 1st place in the NFC North.  In a very entertaining game, the Cowboys won their 10th in a row downing the Redskins and the night game saw the Steelers have no issue beating the Colts who were playing without start QB Andrew Luck who was out with a concussion.
On Sunday, we saw the NY Giants and the Miami Dolphins both win their 6th straight games and keep in the playoff races in their Conferences. The Titans held off the Bears who were playing their 3rd QB of the season and Chicago may have found their quarterback of the future in this game. If not for 2 dropped passes in the end zone late in the game, the Bears would of won this game. Atlanta playing the AZ Cardinals, dominated on both sides of the ball in winning and all but ending this years playoff hopes for the Cardinals. It has been a very disappointing year for a team many picked to a potential Super Bowl contender.  In New Orleans, the Rams behind their rookie QB Jared Goff who threw for 3 TD's got smoked by the surging Saints and QB Drew Brees. Baltimore with their stingy defense and just enough offense with 4 FG and a TD beat the Bengals. The Chargers went into Houston and won easily over the 1st place Texans in a game that saw once again Brock Osweiler struggle.  Buffalo came away with a win over the Jaguars in a see saw game that also kept their slim playoff chances alive. The Buccaneers fresh off the win over the Chiefs dominated the Seahawks in a game that gives Tampa Bay hopes of possibly getting into playoffs in the NFC.  In the most entertaining game of the weekend, the Raiders held off the Panthers to go to 9-2 in a game that saw Carolina lose again and Oakland hold onto their 1 game lead over the Chiefs in the AFC West.  New England won a hard fought game over the NY Jets to keep tied with the Raiders for the best record in the AFC and the night game seen the Kansas Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos in OT as a gamble by Broncos HC Gary Kubiak failed and led to the Chiefs winning FG and thus possibly also ending the Broncos chances at a Wild Card spot this season.
On Monday night, Green Bay ended a 4 game losing streak by downing the struggling Eagles. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers led an passing attack against a good defensive team that was over matched all night long. Philadelphia has had many issues with its offense this season and it continued Monday night. The Eagles who started the year 3-0 have now lost 5 of their last 7 and also saw their slim playoff hopes go down the drain with the loss. The NFL also needs to address their domestic violence policy better and work with the NFLPA to take all the loopholes out of it and make the penalty for violating this policy a very strict suspension. Officiating is looking even worse then ever as pick plays, pass interference on the offense and defense continues not to be called and late hits and roughing the passes depends more on who the player is, then was the play an actual penalty or not?  Ratings are also low due to the parity in the game and as they do every year they select the teams before the season for the Thursday night and Sunday night games.  Cooper went 14-2 in his week 12 picks and is 136-39-2 for the season   We will continue to post His record for each weekend and season total.                                                                            twitter; @cupofjoeinthed    email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com
