NFL Power Rankings Week 12 and Recap

The NFL Power Rankings Week 12 and Recap after week 11 of the Season. Week 11 opened up with the Panthers beating the Saints by a FG. It was the second straight week  New Orleans had a blocked PAT come back and haunt them in a loss.    Have a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.......
On Sunday, we seen a few surprises and once again star players go down with serious injuries. The Vikings losers of 4 straight, used a kickoff return and also an interception return to down the Cardinals and keep pace with the Detroit Lions for 1st place in the NFC North. The Vikings and Lions face off on Thanksgiving Day as the winner will have sole possession of 1st place in the Division. The Lions once again came back in the 4th qtr. as all their games have been decided in the 4th quarter and behind QB Stafford beat the Jaguars.  Buffalo beat Cincinnati to keep their slim playoff hopes alive and ending the Bengals hopes. In the game, WR AJ Green went down with a hamstring injury and RB Bernard went down with a season ending knee injury and Bills RB McCoy went down with a thumb injury. . The Steelers beat the winless Browns in a game where Pittsburgh just had to show up to win as the Browns didnt put up much of a fight. The weather was more of a factor then the Browns were in this game.  The NY Giants behind a balanced running and passing attack downed the Bears in a game that saw both QB Cutler and TE Miller have their seasons end with injuries.  The Cowboys won their 9th game in a row in a slug fest with the Ravens in Dallas.  Tampa Bay went in Kansas City and stopped the Chiefs 5 game winning streak as the Buccaneers evened their record at 5-5. The Colts beat the surging Titans in a back and forth game.
In the Sunday late games, the Patrtiots had a bit of trouble against the 49ers, but QB Tom Brady continued to torch opposing defenses as the Pats won for the 8th time this season.  In LA, rookie QB Jared Goff started his first game as the franchise QB for the Rams but it was the Dolphins who prevailed scoring 2 late TD's in the 4th quarter to win and go to 6-4 on the season.  Seattle at home, behind their defense and their  struggling offense handed the Eagles their 5th lost in the last 7 games. It was another games where both teams lost RB's for the rest of the year.  In the Sunday night game, the Redskins behind QB Kirk Cousins passing and the stellar running of rookie RB Kelley, ripped the Packers defense apart and handed Green Bay their 6th loss of the season. QB Rodgers for the 3rd week in a row put up gaudy numbers in trying to comeback as the opposing teams played prevent defense as he rolled up yards given to him.  It is time for HC Mike McCarthy to relinquish his play calling duties to a true OC and concentrate on fixing the issues on his team especially defensively. But both McCarthy and Rodgers need to not meddle with a new OC and let the person do their job.
On Monday night, in a game played in Mexico City, the Oakland Raiders beat the Houston Texans by a touchdown. Officiating was so so in this games as it has been all season long.  In this weeks 14 games played, 11 PAT's were missed. Moving the PAT line back to the 25 yard line has added some suspense to the game. The NFL also needs to address their domestic violence policy better and work with the NFLPA to take all the loopholes out of it and make the penalty for violating this policy a very strict suspension. Officiating is looking even worse then ever as pick plays, pass interference on the offense and defense continues not to be called and late hits and roughing the passes depends more on who the player is, then was the play an actual penalty or not?  Ratings are also low due to the parity in the game and as they do every year they select the teams before the season for the Thursday night and Sunday night games. This years games have been duds at best for the most part and the NFL for the first time all year exercised to change the teams on the Sunday night game in a few weeks  Cooper went 10-4 in his week 11 picks and is 122-37-2 for the season   We will continue to post His record for each weekend and season total.                                                                            twitter; @cupofjoeinthed    email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com
