NFL Week 3 Power Rankings and week 2 Recap

Week 2 of the Season ended last night as the up and coming Chicago Bears beat the slumping Seattle Seahawks. It was a week where we seen 2nd year QB Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs throw for 6 TD's and now has 10 TD passes after only 2 games. Also, veteran journeyman QB Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Buccaneers threw for over 400 yards for the 2nd straight week and has the Bucs at 2-0. For the 2nd straight week we had a tie and it was a bad bad week for kickers in the NFL.
Last Thursday night, we seen the Cincinnati Bengals go to 2-0 with a convincing win over the Ravens. Bengals WR AJ Green had 3 TD catches in the win but the win also came at the cost of RB Joe Mixon who injured his knee and will be out 3-5 weeks. Cincinnati is in 1st place in the AFC North a game ahead of the Ravens and 1.5 games ahead of both the Browns and Steelers.
The Sunday early games kicked off with the Titans winning for the 1st time this season and first win for rookie Head Coach Mike Vrabel beating the win less Texans in a game that saw Texans QB Deshaun Watson cost his team a chance to tie or win the game when He lost track of time and let the clock run out on him. The Colts rebounded from week one and beat the Redskins in Washington as both teams are now 1-1.  New Orleans kept the Browns win less in a game that seesawed back and forth and seen the Browns kicker miss 2 extra points and 2 FG's that cost them this game.  The surprising Miami Dolphins won their second game in a row as they beat the Jets in NY.  Miami now is 2-0 and leading the AFC East quickly brought Sam Darnold and the Jets back down to earth after their win in week 1. Darnold threw for over 330 yards but it was not enough as the Dolphins playing behind a good defense held on for the win.  Two quarterbacks who struggled badly in week 1, both turned it around and had good games as the Falcons beat the Panthers by a touchdown. In this game, a cheap hit by Falcons safety Damontae Kazee on Panthers QB Cam Newton showed there needs to be a tough rule/ejection and suspension for an inexcusable helmet hit on a defenseless player. San Diego played much better as they crushed the 0-2 Buffalo Bills.  Buffalo was down 28-0 early in the 2nd quarter as the Chargers cruised to the win. San Diego's RB Melvin Gordon scored 3 TD's in this game and Bills RB LeSean McCoy left the game with an rib injury. Also in this game, Buffalo LB Vontae Davis had enough of this game and football in general as He retired from the NFL at halftime of the game.
The upstart Tampa Buccaneers for the 2nd week in a row beat a preseason team that was chosen to be a possible Super Bowl contender as the Buccaneers beat the Eagles. Backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing the best football of his career and the question now is, when starting QB Jameis Winston comes back from his suspension after next weeks game, who will be the starter going forward in Tampa Bay?  In a dual of top NFC North teams, the Vikings and Packers lived up to the hype in a game that ended in a tie. Both Packers QB Rodgers and Vikings QB Cousins led their teams in this battle. The game came down to the kickers and both missed winning FG's at the end of the 4th quarter and in OT. After the game, Minnesota cut their kicker and signed ex Cowboy Dan Bailey.  The highest scoring game of the day was in Pittsburgh as the KC Chiefs behind 2nd year QB Patrick Mahomes and his 6 TD passes (10 TD passes in his first 2 games) downed the Steelers who played catch up all game long and rode the arm of Ben Roethlisberger and his 450 yards. The 2 QB's combined for over 800 yards in the air and 9 TD passes combined. LeVeon Bell was still a no show for the Steelers and WR Antonio Brown was seen in a yelling match with Coaches. In the game, Big Ben overthrew a wide open Brown on numerous occasions.
The late games seen the LA Rams run roughshod over the 0-2 Arizona Cardinals as Rams RB Todd Gurley ran for 3 TD's. San Francisco won their 1st game as they beat the 0-2 Lions in a nail bitter. The 49ers blew a huge 4th quarter lead and if not for a very questionable holding call late, the Lions would of won this game. Denver won its second game of the season with a last second FG to keep Jon Gruden and the Raiders win less. In the rematch of last seasons AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars seen the Jaguars get the best of the Patriots in a rout. The Jaguars played without RB Leanord Fournette and lost OT Cam Robinson for the season.
The Sunday night game seen the Cowboys beat the NY Giants as the Cowboys did just enough to win and the Giants whose OL couldn't run block or pass block lose for the 2nd straight game and start the season 0-2.  On Monday night, the Bears evened their record at 1-1 as their defense hammered the Seahawks OL and QB Russell Wilson all night and sacked Wilson 6 times and made him rush his throws all game long. Khalil Mack made his presence known early on and throughout the game.
