CFB Top25 Week 3 by Joey the Cat and CupofJoeintheD

Here is the CFB Top 25 Week 3 and a recap of week 2, updated by Joey the CFB Cat Analyst and also by CupofJoeintheD. Week 2 of the CFB season were games that were pretty much for the most part games where the Top 25 teams played cupcake teams to pad their resumes except for a few meaningful games...  Clemson and Texas A&M played a hard fought very entertaining game that seen the Tigers come out on top by a score of 28-26.  Georgia visited South Carolina and rolled over the Gamecocks to show everyone it looks like it will be a 2 team battle for supremacy in the SEC between Alabama and Georgia. Eight top 25 teams scored 40+ points in routes of opponents. Kentucky beat the Gators in Florida to end a 31 year losing streak. The Gators were a preseason sleeper choice to win the SEC East.  Arizona State, overcame a 10 point 4th quarter deficit to stun Michigan State on a last second FG.  Eastern Michigan beat Purdue on a last second FG.  Alabama continues to play a relative easy non conference schedule as do many of the Power House teams and until the Playoff Committee has the gumption to penalize these teams for doing this and not worry what the Sponsors of the Big Bowls think, there is little chance that the Top 5 or so Elite teams will lose a non conference game. This would also include Clemson, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Ohio State and Michigan.
As for the cupcake games in Week 2 for the following;  Alabama beat Arkansas State 57-7. Michigan beat Western Michigan 49-3. Wisconsin over New Mexico 45-14. Oregon over Portland State 62-14. Miami (Fla) beat Savannah State 77-0. Washington over North Dakota 45-3. Virginia Tech over William & Mary 62-17.  Auburn over Alabama State 63-9. West Virginia over Youngstown State 52-17.
Notre Dame fresh off its week 1 win over Michigan struggled all game long and barely beat Ball State 24-16. Stanford and USC battled in an early week 2 Pac12 game that seen Stanford behind a stout defense down the Trojans 17-3.
The weekly side note for week #2 is the continued and baffling rants by Ohio State HC Urban Meyer on Twitter. For someone who got off with just a slap on the wrist, He is trying to justify his actions and now wants everyone to think He did nothing wrong and the school should of never suspended him for 3 games. To me I still do not see how this is a suspension. Meyer is allowed on Campus and in the football building, with his players and coaches right up to Friday night. Also, the 3 teams he cannot coach on the sidelines aren't exactly Top teams in Oregon State, Rutgers, and TCU which is the toughest of these 3 teams..
Joey was 24-8 in week 2 including picking 4 upsets. YTD, Joey is 43-13 with 8 upsets picked. Joey will provide his picks of the week on Thursday as he does every week.  We will revise our Top25 every week thru the College Football Season..  twitter; @TheCupofJoeintheD   email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com    www.cupofjoeinthed.blogspot.com
