Week 11 of the College Football Season officially started when the major shakeups in the Top 25 occur and it was just as expected that is saying the least for sure. Georgia was manhandled by Auburn as they suffered their first defeat and knocked them out of the Top 5 for the time being. Auburn a 2 loss team now controls their own destiny as if they win out they should be in the Playoffs. Alabama survived a late scare by a tough Mississippi State team to stay undefeated and be the unanimous #1 team in the Country right now. The Miami Hurricane destroyed #3 Notre Dame to keep their perfect season going as this was the first game they played all season against a top 20 team in the Country. Wisconsin continued to plug along and also remain perfect but the Badgers have yet to play anyone remotely tough. Their first test will come in Week 12 against the #17 ranked Michigan Wolverines. Clemson pummeled the once powerful Florida State Seminoles to move into the #2 position. Oklahoma dominated a tough TCU team to round out the Top 5 in the CFB Poll.
Both Ohio State and Penn State bounced back from embarrassing loses to keep their slim CFB Playoff hopes alive. UCF rounds out the Top 10 as they went to 9-0 and are the only non Power 5 Conference team that has any chance of making it into the CFB Playoffs but need allot of help in the next couple of weeks. So sit back and enjoy the final few weeks left of what has been a very quick and fast paced but also very entertaining College Football Season. The inevitable happened yesterday as the Tennessee Volunteers fired Head Coach Butch Jones after another inexcusable embarrassing blowout. This time it was an average at best Missouri team that spanked the Volunteers. What concerns me the most is that the new Tennessee AD John Currie, said it was this loss that made up his mind to make a coaching change? He has got to be kidding, there were numerous other reasons why a change needed to happen and it needed to happen weeks ago. With so much talent on this team, the way the team keeps losing says volumes about the current Coaching staff. The interim Coach is Brady Hoke, a good and well respected College Coach. Whoever is named the next Head Coach at Tennessee needs to bring in a top OC and DC if the Vols have any hope of returning to a top Football program. With the firing of Jones, we should start to see the annual house cleaning of coaches start immediately and well through the Bowl Season.
