It is Final Four time and it starts this weekend!!! The 4 remaining
teams will be in Phoenix with #1 Gonzaga facing #7 South Carolina in the first game and #3 Oregon facing #1 North Carolina in the later game.
South Carolina continues to surprise everyone as the #7 seed upended Florida to win the East Regional and reach the Final Four for the first time in school history. In the West Regional, #1 Gonzaga ended the Cinderella run of #11 Xavier to also make it to the Final Four for the first time in their history. Oregon, the #3 seed in the Midwest took down #1 seed Kansas, the favorite pick of many Bracketeers to win it all. The South Region Championship seen perhaps the best game of the Tournament so far as #1 seed North Carolina beat #2 Kentucky on a last second shot. North Carolina, which was the runner up in last seasons NCAA Tournament is now the hands on favorite to win this years Championship. Brackets were busted up everywhere this
weekend with just a few left standing. It just goes to show that being the
Top seed virtually guarantees a win in their first round of the NCAA
Tournament but afterwards anything can happen. It takes some luck and
lots of skill and determination to win all 6 games and win it all. That
is why you do not see repeat winners or teams reaching the Championship
game year in and year out anymore.. Joey Boloney the NCAA Cat Analyst
has correctly picked 3 teams in
the Final Four and looks to continue his trend into the Championship
Game. Joey is currently 52-8 going into the Final Four. Good luck to
all
those whose Brackets are still alive. The NCAA Final Four and
Championship game come to the Forefront and make this a magical weekend
to
all 4 teams and their fans and College Basketball pundits everywhere!
Joey the Cat will continue to let everyone know how he does and Good
luck to all 4 teams left!!!
On a side note, CBS once again chose to air Elite 8 games on TBS so they could show their regular programming on Saturday night. CBS chose to show the bigger drawing games on Sunday this year. Note to the NCAA, if CBS is going to continue to be the Network of choice showing the NCAA Tournament, they need to show all Elite 8 games on CBS and not pick and choose which games to show based on a larger tv audience. Lets be perfectly clear, this is all about the almighty dollar to CBS, to the NCAA, to the Conferences, and to the Schools. It is the fans that end up paying for all of this in the end. Prices to go to the NCAA Tournament games increase from the Original 64 all they way to the Final Four and the ticket prices now rival Pro Sporting Playoffs making it harder and harder for students and fans attend these events anymore.
