MSU / Michigan Big House Battle for Supremacy

The first 6 games of the College Football Season has led up to the game Everyone has been talking to for weeks now and expectations are beyond belief for MSU and Michigan!  In this long rivalry between these 2 schools which are approximately 60 miles apart there is no love lost between these schools. MSU has built itself into a CFB Powerhouse and Michigan  is the winningest College Football Team of all time.  The Spartans have been ranked in the Top 5 in the Country since the preseason and Michigan has slowly climbed the polls and now sits at #12 going into this game. The Big House will be rockin', 110,000+ screaming and cheering on their Wolverines which will help energize Michigan. MSU has played in allot of big games and although the crowd will be loud and boisterous, MSU should not be affected by the crowd.  Turnovers, penalties and big plays will decide the outcome of this game! MSU has a great QB, knows how to win close games and has fought through adversity of having 12 starters go down with injuries so far this football season. They come into the Big House in Ann Arbor heavily banged up with injuries at key positions especially on the Offensive Line.  Coach Dantonio will make sure the team is ready knowing this will be a huge game for either team moving onto the B1G Championship and into the 4 team National Playoffs.  Michigan has played exceptionally well since their 1st game loss to Utah and the defense has 3 straight shutouts and the offense is coming together. Injuries are not a factor for Michigan in this game and as with any team, being injury free or having a limited amount of injuries goes a long ways into how far you can go in any season.  MSU has played in a lot of close games this year so far and haven't blown any opponent out where as Michigan has blown out their last 3 opponents. Many sports pundits and fans have picked Michigan to win by at least a touchdown if not more but as we all know when a game between two rivals as this one is, it should be a great game. If Michigan wins, Harbaugh will be hailed as the "Savior" and Michigan will be back on top and there will be talk of the tide turning and Michigan the best football program in Michigan. If MSU wins, people will say Michigan was overrated and Harbaugh is just using Michigan as a stepping stone back to the NFL, which I also agree He is but will stay at Michigan a few more years until the exact NFL job he wants opens up. Some have even went as far to say, this is all Harbaugh's doing, Michigan has real good players but they are playing well above their ability and it will only take a real good physically talented team to bring the Wolverines back down to earth. To me it is a Coaches job to get his players motivated and to play at a higher level of intensity and perform above expectations.
In my opinion, it is great for the State of Michigan to have 2 powerhouse College Football Teams each and every year!  There is more than enough room in the State for these 2 great teams and going forward with MSU and Michigan, we will have potential year in and year out Top 10 Teams in College Football.  Yes the rivalry has become a love/hate rivalry the past 10 years, more so than other years and the winning  school will have bragging rights for the next year but it is now so much more than just bragging rights. The winner will lead going towards the National Championship Playoffs which is now the goal for both of these teams and not just beating each other anymore! Times have changed the past few years in College Football where rivalries are still important, but the goal is now one of moving onto to the National Championship Playoffs. This game comes down to this; MSU is a more experienced and challenged in close games this year, but is also heavily banged up with key injuries to its key positions. Michigan is riding  the wave of the Jim Harbaugh era, playing real good and has most thinking they have restored the football program to National prominence.  No matter who wins the game today, one game does not turn the tide or says a program is on the down swing or up swing, this game will give bragging rights for a year but it will give one of these teams  the upper hand towards the B1G Championship! It all comes down to who wants this game more? MSU or Michigan.      @cupofjoeinthed
