Metro Detroit's Mass Transit Bus System is in Total Chaos!

Let me ask everyone a question, Who doesn't think there is a problem with Metro Detroit's mass transit bus system?  If you said no, you must be one of maybe a few with their head buried in all the snow or are in your own world and do not care about anything. Kidding aside, this just didn't happen, it has been bad for so many years, even decades! Yet Governor after Governor, Mayor after Mayor, County Exec after County Exec, and Politicians after Politicians have all acknowledged this huge problem but no one and I mean no one has fixed the problem as of today. It is almost comical and yet very sad, that is takes the plight of a man (James Robertson) who walked over 20 miles a day to and from work to place this issue back in the headlines where it should of never disappeared from!  I find it hard to believe that the Governor hasn't sat down the Mayor and the County Execs and put together a concrete plan to resolve this issue, not a developmental plan but a real plan to address and fix the problem at hand. Instead, we have 2 Bus systems (Smart and Detroit buses) that run routes but both stop at 8 mile. What is even more idiotic is that a plan that was developed to possibly work never had a real chance for it allowed communities to opt out and surprise surprise numerous communities above 8 mile choose this loophole saying it wasn't in the best interest of the people in their communities. Who are they kidding, their decisions were all about money and nothing else! The mass transit bus system in Metro Detroit has to be one of the worst in the Nation if not the worst. I do not understand why someone has not went to cities like Denver or Cleveland or other cities where their mass transit bus systems are excellent and use them as a benchmark to make one for Metro Detroit even better? Detroit is growing and on the rise but no one can come up with a plan for it to include a world class mass transit system that includes buses? It truly baffles me that for as long as I can remember and that is many many years, this mass transit bus system has been bad, very bad! And yet we are in the same dire straits now that we were then! Yes,  the new M1 rail system will be good but that is only a portion of the mass transit system that is needed in Metro Detroit. We seem to have a hurry up and wait and see attitude instead of one where we are proactive and take care of it now. How many more excuses will everyone come up with? The biggest excuse  (Detroit's bankruptcy) is done, so lets get a move on and figure it out!  I am reminded of a saying of mine, "TickTock (Gov.Snyder, Mayor Duggan, and all the County Execs), you are on the clock". Lets get this problem fixed and done as a group, do not send it to the Lawmakers and have them delay this and make a mockery of this issue as they have with fixing our roads.  Enough is Enough!  @acupofjoeinthed
