2019 NFL Draft is Finally Here!!

The 2019 NFL Draft is finally here!! Almost 3 months after the end of the Super Bowl, fans and teams are chomping at the bit.  This years NFL Draft has Arizona, San Francisco, NY Jets, Oakland, and Tampa Bay with the first 5 picks. There are always a lot of Mock Draft Boards out there but most at best are only guessing after the first few picks. Teams will jockey and move up or down depending on who they want and what their most glaring needs are at their pick selection.
The Arizona Cardinals have the 1st pick and it looks like they will take their second Top 10 QB in 2 years when they select Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the 1st pick in the Draft. Other teams with QB needs are the Bengals, NY Giants, Redskins and Packers.Washington which has not had good drafts in the past years is now relying on its Owner to decide if they will take a QB with the 15th pick
The Oakland Raiders have 3 picks in Round 1 and the Packers and Giants have two 1st round picks in this years draft. This years draft is once again strong on the defensive prospects and a very deep TE group as well.  The RB's class is a bit down this year as compared to previous years. The OL is also thin at Top talent.  Look for outside of a few top guys picked, for very good players to be available in the 2-4 the rounds of the draft,
All Teams will have their war rooms and the players they want and ranked and all teams have their own ways of projecting who is best at each position. The NFL Combine gave teams a chance to talk to players they were interested in as well as bringing potential players in to talk to them individually. So the time is here for the fans to get excited and either be happy with their teams selection or be a MMQB and yell and stomp their feet and let their teams know they do not like who was selected, this is what makes the Draft so exciting for teams and their fans. So much time and resources are spent trying to find the top players in all rounds of the draft. Time will tell which teams drafted the best and which ones were the worst.
I find it very amusing with all these so called Draft experts who grade NFL teams on their draft choices, only to see allot of the time as the season plays on that they were so wrong. The so called Draft Experts are just that, Draft guessers and usually not too good at that either..They project who the teams will draft especially in the first round and then grade them afterwards usually not having a clue how good these players may or may not be in the NFL. On a side note, the Steelers extended Ben Roethlisberger contract thru 2021 paying him $30M/yr. This is crazy money being thrown around for a slightly above average quarterback now but in light of the money paid to Seattle QB Russell Wilson this seems to be the going price for a QB in the league nowadays.
The Detroit Lions are My hometown team and this is the 4th year GM Bob Quinn and 2nd year Head Coach Matt Patricia heading up the draft, they currently hold 8 draft picks in the 7 rounds of the NFL Draft. Look for the Lions to move down if the price is right and gain additional draft picks. Most Mock Drafts have Detroit taking LSU LB Devin White with the 8th pick. I see the Lions taking Iowa TE TJ Hockenson...   Detroit addressed some needs via Free Agency but the Lions have many glaring needs that need to be addressed hopefully in this years draft. They need help on the OL, DL, S, LB, WR, etc..........

Signed by the Lions

Biggest Questions to be Answered in this Draft!!!

  • Is Dan Snyder really making the call on the Redskins taking a QB in the 1st round?
  • Are the NY Giants going to take a QB early as a replacement for Eli Manning?
  • Will the Raiders get it right with 3 first round picks and not screw it up?
  • Is Arizona doing the right thing in drafting Murray when they have so many needs?
  • Which Player rises early and which Player falls in this Draft?
  • Will the teams that need a QB for the future take one or will they take they best player?
  • Which teams will trade up and if they do will they give up to much to move up in Round 1?
  • Will the Patriots continue to find star players in the lower rounds?
  • Should the Steelers take a QB to groom for the future?
  • Will this draft continue its defensive dominance versus the offensive players?
  • Which Mock Draft will be closest to the players taken in the 1st round?
  • Which team will take a gamble on a player and a flyer in the 1st round?
  • Will the Jaguars get it right, they have had a top 10 draft pick in 11 out of the last 12 years?
I will also give you the top 4 Draft winners, 4 teams that were average and the 4 biggest losers after the Draft based on my own criteria and opinions as I do every year. Remember this years NFL Draft will be seen on the ABC Network and the NFL Network.
