Week 15 of the NFL Season kicks off with an AFC match up
between the Denver Broncos (4-9) and the Indianapolis Colts (3-10). This is a game between 2 teams looking towards next season and just trying to get thru the next few games. In good news for the NFL and its
Players, the NFL is
giving $90M to address social issues on many issues that the players
deem important to them, the bad news is the NFL will take these monies
away from other charities it gives money too. The NFL isn't asking for
anything in return but
does hope the players will stop their protest of the National Anthem.
We kick off the first of 2 Saturday's of NFL Football with the Detroit Lions hosting the Chicago Bears. The Lions hope to win out and keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The 2nd game of the day is a 1st place battle as the surging LA Chargers travel to face the Kansas Chiefs. The Chargers have won 4 straight games and are playing the best football in the AFC West.
Sunday kicks off the early games as the Bills host the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo needs a win to stay in contention for the final playoff spot in the AFC. Baltimore travels to Cleveland to play the win less Browns. The Ravens have in recent weeks seen their offense come alive but also have seen their dominant defense shows signs of cracking. The first place Jaguars entertain the Texans as Jacksonville strives to win the AFC South outright. Cincinnati travels to Minnesota to face the first place Vikings in a game the Vikes need to win to continue their surprising season. Philadelphia will play their 1st game of the season without star QB Carson Wentz who went down with a season ending injury last week when they visit the NY Giants. The Carolina Panthers host the Green Packers, in Packers QB Aaron Rodgers first game back after missing the last 7 games with a broken collarbone. The Packers need to win their last 3 games to have any chance of making the playoffs. Two struggling and injury filled teams square off in Washington as the Redskins play host to the Arizona Cardinals. The last of the early games has the NY Jets traveling to New Orleans to play the first place Saints. The Jets will be without QB McCown who is out for the rest of the season.
The late games on Sunday starts off with an NFC West battle at the LA Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams look to be playoff bound as the final push for higher seeding begins in this game. In the other much anticipated game of the day will showcase the match up of 1st place teams in the AFC as the Steelers host the New England Patriots. The winner of this game will have a foot hold on the overall top position in the AFC Playoff race. The Tennessee Titans visit the 49ers who have won 2 straight games behind QB Jimmy Garappolo. The Sunday night game has 2 teams who also must win out to have any chance at the playoffs as the Oakland Raiders will host the Dallas Cowboys.
On Monday night, we will see the surging Atlanta Falcons visit the disappointing Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons have their eyes set on another playoff run whereas the Buccaneers are already looking at next season.
On a separate note, once again players seemed to go off and try to hurt each other as at the end of the Seahawks and Jaguars game last Sunday, the Seahawks Michael Bennett was called for an illegal hit and cheap shot on the Jaguars player as the Jaguars were running out the clock. Two other Seattle players ( Sheldon Richardson and Quinton Jefferson) also were involved in incidents that the NFL should crack down on and give all 3 of them at least a one game suspension. Just another Black
Eye for the NFL who also resigned Commissioner Roger Goodell to a
5yr./200M contract.
