NFL Power Rankings Week 9 and Recap

The NFL Power Rankings Week 9 and Recap after week 8 of the Season. Week 8 opened up with the Tennessee Titans destroying the Jacksonville Jaguars last Thursday night.  It was a game that seen the Jaguars look like they were going thru the motions. The Patriots went into Buffalo and spanked the Bills over and over as Tom Brady threw for 4 TD's and no interceptions.   In a week where we seen another tie  between the Redskins and Bengals in London, we had 2 other games go into OT.  The first game saw Derek Carr of the Raiders throw for over 500 yards and 4 TD's to go to 5-0 on the road and 6-2 overall and in the other game, the Cowboys came from 10 points behind in the 4th quarter to down the Eagles in OT.  It was a battle of 2 rookie QB's and even though both made some glaring mistakes, they both showed they are the QB's of their respective teams going forward. The Falcons and Packers put on an entertaining game that had the Falcons winning in the last minute.  New Orleans continues to surprise and this time downed the Seahawks.  The Texans went to 4-0 beating Detroit in a lackluster game. Kansas City went on the road to beat the Colts in a game that saw Chiefs QB Alex Smith takes 2 vicious hits to the head and knocking him out of the game.  The Panthers coming off a bye week, cruised to an early lead and beat the Cardinals easily. In the game, Panthers QB Cam Newton once again took deliberate late hits to the head and legs and again wasn't called by the refs.  This whole season the refs have allowed defenses to take cheap late shots again and again and the refs refuse to protect Newton as they do other QB's in the league.
In the Monday night game, the Chicago Bears behind QB Jay Cutler and rookie RB Jordan Howard surprised the slumping Minnesota Vikings for their 2nd win of the year. Cutler who missed 5 games with a thumb injury played mistake free and Howard ran and caught passes for over 200 yards against the stingy Vikings defense. The Vikings on the other hand cannot protect the QB and are stalled offensively. The NFL trade line is today at 4pm, already one huge trade occurred yesterday when the Patriots shipped Pro Bowl LB to the Browns for a 3rd round pick. In doing this, the Patriots showed it is all business and no loyalty to its players and no one can blame NFL Players to seek Free Agency and go where the money is nowadays. Cooper went 9-3-1 in his week 8 picks and is 91-27-2 for the season   We will continue to post His record for each weekend and season total.                                                                            twitter; @cupofjoeinthed    email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com
