NFL Power Rankings Week 11 and Recap

The NFL Power Rankings Week 11 and Recap after week 10 of the Season. Week 10 opened up with the Ravens beating the winless Browns at home. In a sloppy played game, Baltimore's stout defense held Cleveland scoreless after halftime. Cleveland might just become the second team in the past 10 years not to win a game in a 16 game NFL season.
On Sunday, we saw some real exciting games and a few defensive gems and a game of 2 offenses that struggled mightily. The Buccaneers took care of business at home downing the Bears in a game that saw Tampa's defense cause turnovers and score and the Bears looked terrible on both sides of the ball especially QB Jay Cutler.  Houston won again to keep themselves in first place in the AFC South.  The LA Rams and NY Jets had a hard time moving the ball and both offenses had trouble scoring points but in the end the Rams won 9-6 and for the second time this season they won a game where they didn't score a TD but only had points on Field Goals.  Tennessee destroyed the Packers at home in a game that saw the Packers offesne struggle again, their defense getting blown up and even though QB Rodgers had gaudy stats, they were mostly in mop up time as the team was behind by 20+ points since early in the1st quarter. It is time for HC Mike McCarthy to relinquish his play calling duties to a true OC and concentrate on fixing the issues on his team especially defensively. But both McCarthy and Rodgers need to not meddle with a new OC and let the person do their job.  The Eagles shut down the high flying Falcons and got a much needed win to stay in the Wild Card hunt in the NFC.  Kansas City came back from being 17 points down to beat the Panthers on a last second FG to remained tied for first in the AFC West. The loss all but assured the Panthers who went to the Super Bowl last year will not make the playoffs this year. The Broncos won a thriller in New Orleans as a blocked PAT was returned for 2 points and that was the difference in a wild finish.  The Redskins in a hard fought game beat the Vikings handing Minnesota their 4th straight loss. The loss now has the Vikings tied with the Detroit lions for first place in the NFC North. Miami went into San Diego and picked off Chargers QB Rivers 4 times in winning their 4 straight game. The Cardinals were in a battle with the 49ers all game long until the final minute and hung on for a much needed win. In the most exciting game of the season so far, a wild last 2 minutes saw three lead changes and the Cowboys behind Prescott and Elliott beat the Steelers in the final 30 seconds.  This game had 5 - 2 point conversion tried.
The Sunday night game saw a repeat of the 2015 Super Bowl but this time the Seattle Seahawks prevailed as the Patriots were stopped 4 times from the 1 yard line as time was winding down.  The Patriots who have lost twice at home this season relied on Brady trying to throw to Gronkowski one time too many as the Seattle stopped it to win the game.  The game also had some questionable officiating calls but the non call at the end of the game was the right call.
On Monday night,  the NY Giants held off the Cincinnati Bengals 21-20 to remain 2 games behind Dallas in the NFC East.  Giants QB Manning who is always a better QB at home then on the road, threw for 3 TD's and played just enough defense to eek out the win. Injuries continue to decimate teams, and players getting suspended for violating the leagues substance abuse policy with the latest being Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffrey.  The NFL also needs to address their domestic violence policy better and work with the NFLPA to take all the loopholes out of it and make the penalty for violating this policy a very strict suspension. Officiating is  looking even worse then ever as pick plays, pass interference on the offense and defense continues not to be called and late hits and roughing the passes depends more on who the player is, then was the play an actual penalty or not?  Ratings are also low due to the parity in the game and as they do every year they select the teams before the season for the Thursday night and Sunday night games. This years games have been duds at best and the NFL for the first time all year exercised to change the teams on the Sunday night game in a few weeks. They benched the Patriots and QB Tom Brady in favor of a big match up between the Broncos and Chiefs. I congratulate the NFL on making this switch and hope they continue to do it the rest of the season .   Cooper went 11-3 in his week 10 picks and is 112-33-2 for the season   We will continue to post His record for each weekend and season total.                                                                            twitter; @cupofjoeinthed    email; cupofjoeinthed@gmail.com
