NFL Football Week 5 begins with a match up of two NFC West teams when the Arizona Cardinals (1-3) play the San Francisco 49ers (1-3) in San Francisco. The disappointing Cardinals will be without starting QB Carson Palmer who still is feeling the effects of a concussion from last Sunday. In week 4 games, we saw the Ravens get beat by the upstart Raiders who won for the 3rd time this season on the road. The previously winless Bears beat the listless and lifeless Lions in a game between 2 very bad teams right now who also are decimated by injuries. In Atlanta, the Falcons behind 500+ passing yards from QB Matt Ryan and 300 receiving yards from WR Julio Jones crushed the Panthers. Also in this game Panthers QB Cam Newton was knocked out of the game with a concussion. Ever since the game against Denver in week 1 where Cam Newton took numerous vicious hits to the head, Newton hasn't been the same QB he was last season. The Vikings went to 4-0 behind the best defense in the NFC and perhaps all of football and also in the game, NY Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. had another melt down and is now more of a distraction then the great receiver he was of 2 years ago. In Pittsburgh, RB Le'Veon Bell came back from a season ending injury sustained last year and a 3 game suspension to start the season, to run for 144 yards and Big Ben threw 5 TD's in a rout over the Kansas City Chiefs. In New England the surging visiting Bills behind a newly found stout defense shutout the Patriots. New England who went 3-1 in Brady's absence, now look forward to his return for a week 5 game in Cleveland against the Browns. New Orleans won their first game of the season over coming a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter to beat the Chargers in San Diego. The Seahawks went into NY and beat the Jets to go to 3-1. Dallas went to 3-1 behind rookie QB Dak Prescott and rookie RB Ezkiel Elliott. It was also another week of seeing key players go down to serious and sometimes season ending injuries. As usual, it will be a marathon season for all NFL teams and the good teams that remain healthy will make it into the playoffs and onto the Super Bowl.
