Rio 2016 Olympics close with a Bang!

     The 2016 Rio Olympics are closing and the city of Rio De Janeiro and the country of Brazil needs to take a bow for putting on an incredibly awesome and safe Olympics for both the athletes and fans alike! With big distractions and questions looming at the start of the Olympics in regards to the readiness of the City, the Zika Virus, the Russian Doping scandal, the Rio Olympics will go down as a huge success.. There were many great stories, finishes and surprises along the way and also some downfalls as well.

The Huge Successes in My Opinion were as follows:

• Great Britain had a great showing and took home 66 medals,finishing 3rd behind the USA and China.
• Usain Bolt winning 3 Gold Medals in the same 3 events, 3 Olympics in a row, 2008,2012, and 2016.
• The great showing by the USA Gymnastics team and all the medals won by Simone Biles and the team.
• Comcast and Xfinity incredible coverage on their On Demand of everything and every event from these Olympics to be watched whenever the Viewer chose to watch 24/7 and the ease to see them.
• NBC and CBC for the complete coverage of all events but less commercials would of been better.
• Canada winning more medals at the Rio Olympics then any other Summer Olympics.
• Every Country that participated won at least one medal for their Country.
• The Olympic Spirit of athletes from different Countries helping athletes from other Countries that had fallen of gotten hurt during an event without regard for their own finishing of an event.
• The Dominance in swimming by the USA Swimmers both by the Woman and Men. 
• The Nigerian Men's Soccer team surprising many and missing playing for the Gold by one game but wins the Bronze by beating a very talented Honduras Soccer team. .
• USA Women's Basketball Team wins unprecedented 6th straight Olympic Gold Medal. 
• Germany's Men and Women Soccer teams both playing for Gold Medals, 1st time a Country has has both Men and Women playing for Gold at the same time.
• Golf back in the Olympics as an event after a 100 year absence. 
• USA Swimmer Michael Phelps winning his 23rd overall Gold Medal.  
• Team Canada winning more Medals in Rio Olympics then any other time.  
• Team USA taking home 120 Medals, 1st among all nations!

Disappointments and Downfalls were as follows;

• Russian athletes allowed to participate in the 2016 Rio Olympics after the Russian Sports Federation helped many, if not all their athletes in a Countrywide Drug Doping Scandal. 
• The IOC's integrity and morals cast with a huge Black Eye,  being spineless and not doing the right thing and expelling all Russian athletes from these Olympics.
• Russian athletes taking home 53 medals that should have went to other Countries whose athletes did not participate in drug doping.
• Ryan Lochte and 3 other USA swimmers falsifying and lying about a robbery at gun point by Brazilian Cops that tarnished all their reputations along with the other USA swimmers and taking away from dominance of the USA swimmers in these Olympics. (What was Lochte thinking and Why the Lie??) And an insincere apology made it even worse.
• The Zika virus outbreak and the amount of top athletes from all over the World choosing to not participate in the Rio Olympics. 
• The raw sewage, human and medical waste dumped into the water supply endangering swimmers and turning the swimming pools different colors as well as the high bacteria count in the Ocean waters where swimmers swam in.
• Great Britain announcer getting malaria and on life support. 
• The costs to host the Olympics is out of control, most Countries will never break even and go into debt nowadays. 
• MGL coaches took off their clothes to protest the officials' call that cost their wrestler the Bronze medal.
• IOC Top Official busted and arrested for illegally scalping event tickets.

     These Olympics once again showed the World the true Competitiveness, true Olympic Spirit, true Camaraderie, true Loyalty to the athletes Countries, true Sportsmanship, true Sacrifice by the Athletes and their Families and their Countries, and true Emotions and Feelings and Dedication.. I say Well Done to the City of Rio De Janeiro, well done to the Country of Brazil, well done to the Athletes, and well done to all who brought these games to the entire World to see. I will see everyone at the Winter games in 2018 in  PyeoungChang and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Until then,  lets all sit back and marvel at the spectacular events and venue we all just witnessed the past 16 days.
